Grand Drive Scholarships at the Kansas State Fair
The Kansas State Fair Grand Drive Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding youth livestock exhibitors who have shown excellence, commitment, and integrity through their participation in the Kansas State Fair Junior Livestock Program. Each year, ten $1,000 scholarships are awarded to deserving graduating seniors and post-secondary students, helping them pursue their educational goals.
How to Apply
- Applications open on February 2nd and must be submitted by April 15.
- Past applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and have not previously received a scholarship are encouraged to reapply.
- High School & Post-Secondary Grade Reports - Official transcripts not required. A copy of online grade report showing applicant's name and organization's name is acceptable.
- ESSAY - 500 words or less describing which experiences in showing livestock at the KSF Grand Drive have resonated the most with you and why and describing your leadership and career goals for the future and how the KSF Grand Drive has influenced these goals.

- Dress neat, speak clearly, and be yourself
- No fancy editing required—phone videos are fine
- Answer all questions in order
Recognition and Support
Recipients receive their awards at the Kansas State Fair Grand Drive Gala, celebrating achievements in livestock exhibition. The program is dedicated to supporting the next generation of leaders in agriculture and livestock.
Donors interested in making a positive impact can contribute to the Grand Drive Scholarship fund through the Hutchinson Community Foundation online donation portal.
Mission Statement
The Kansas State Fair Grand Drive aims to honor champion market and breeding livestock exhibitors and organize celebrations for all eligible 4-H and FFA youth participants, while serving as an advisory board for the Kansas State Fair youth livestock show.
